  3. If you ar eplanning a vacation, you may want to plan for your procedure at least two weeks prior to or after, to give yourself plenty of healing time and time for proper care.
  4. If you are prone to keloiding (excessive scarring), you may want ot reconsider this procedure. It is somewhat of an invasive procedure and could cause keloids if you are prone to it.
  5. If you are a blook donor, you will not be able to give blood for one year after this procedure.
  6. Expect some swelling for the first few days.
  7. Complete all exfoliant treatments, retin-A, steriod preparations, glycolic acid, chemical peels, etc at least two weeks prior to procedure. These treatments done afterwards may lead to color definition loss.
  8. If you have any medical conditions, such as diabetes, psoriasis, etc., you will need to discuss the procedure with your physician, If you have mitral valve prolapse, talk to your doctor about prophylactic antibiotics.
  9. Plan to stay out of the sun during the healing process (at least 7 days), and to wear sun block after the healing is complete.
  10. Plan to wear your makeup to your appointment and also bring makeup along so we can match your makeup to the pigment (as close as possible.
  11. If you are pregnant, we cannot perform any form of tattooing on you.

  15. Color will heal lighter than it appears immediately after procedure and for about the first week.
  16. Plan for your appointment to last up to three hours. Although it may go quicker, paper work, planning, numbing and application all take time.
  17. If you are planning any facial or plastic surgery to your face, you will want to do that prior to a permanent cosmetic procedure.
  18. If you are on any blood thinners, including aspirin, talk to your doctor, this will need to be stopped prior to your procedure.

FOR LIPS:
  • If you have ever had a cold sore before, you will more likely have a recurrence with this procedure. To reduce the risk, you can talk to your physician and ask about preventative medication, which usually includes Zovirax (Acyclovir) 5 consecutive, two days prior to the procedure, the day of the procedure and two days after the procedure.
  • Some people say that taking L-Lysine, 5 days before the procedure also helps.
  • If you prefer to have a dental block done for this procedure, you must come in first to have your lip outline applied. Find a dentist to do this near us; the upper lip only remains numb about one hour and the lower lip approximately two hours.

FOR EYELINER:
  • You will probably want someone to drive you home after the procedure, there will be swelling. Some people swell more than others.
  • If you wear contacts, plan to wear your glasses for at least two days after the procedure.
  • Do not curl your eyelashes for two days prior to the procedure.
  • Plan to not wear mascara and shadows (due to bacteria growth in old makeup).
  • You should plan an eye exam prior to application.
  • If you have glaucoma this procedure cannot be performed.

FOR EYEBROWS:
  • If you wax your eyebrows you will probably want to do this at least 2 days prior to this procedure.
  • Eyebrow applications are known to fade faster than other procedures, so be prepared to:
    • Avoid sun during the healing process.
    • Remember sunscreen after it is healed.
    • If you will use exfoliants, avoid directly applying to brows.
    • With proper care, brows usually need touchup in 3-5 years.
